Fried Chicken Curry



Chicken curry can be prepared in a lot many ways. Usually we prepare chicken curry by directly cooking it with the masalas. There is yet another technique of making chicken curry that tastes superb and looks different too. You can cook chicken by frying it and then making a curry. And I can assure you that it tastes perfectly good.


Though this curry is extremely tasty, it is extremely time consuming. So never try this one when you have a lot of work in the kitchen. You can always try this one when you are having lots of time or when it is a Sunday when you want to make something special for your family. The peculiarity of this curry is that it looks like it is extremely hot and spicy with all the red color enhanced in it. But the reality is that the frying of the chicken makes the curry looks hot and spicy.


All those husbands who want to impress their wives on a Sunday can definitely try this recipe out ;)


Ingredients (Serves 6)



·         Chicken – 1 kg
·         Onions- 2 large
·         Chilies – 2
·         Ginger Garlic Paste- ½ tsp
·         Chilly powder- 1 ½ tsp (For Curry) + ¾ tsp (For Fry)
·         Turmeric powder – ½ tsp (For Curry) + ¼ tsp (For Fry)
·         Coriander powder – 4 tsp
·         Garam masala – 1 tsp
·         Tomatoes- 2 medium
·         Coriander leaves – optional – a bunch

Method



·         Take a large vessel and put the clean tender chicken pieces into it
·         To this, add ¾ tsp of chilly powder and ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and small amount of salt
·         Mix all the ingredients together and keep the marinated chicken for 5 min
·         Take a pan and fry all the chicken pieces. Do not make them too crispy
·         Remove the fried chicken from the oil and keep aside
·         In the same oil, add chopped onions and green chilies
·         Sauté till golden brown
·         Now add ginger garlic paste to it and sauté for 2 min
·         Add chilly powder (1 ½ tsp), turmeric ( ¼  tsp) and coriander powder and mix well for 2 min
·         Add chopped tomatoes and sauté
·         Now you may add the fried chicken to the masala
·         Add small amount of salt and some water to it
·         Allow it to boil
·         When the curry starts boiling, add coriander leaves
·         Close the lid for 10 min
·         After 10 min, switch off the stove and remove the curry in a bowl
·         Serve hot with chapattis or rice
·         Enjoy
