Dal Curry For Chapatis- The Healthy Curry For An Exciting Evening





If you want to make a quick and simple curry for chapattis, then I would recommend Dal Curry, which is a really tasty curry that fits well with chapattis and saves a lot of your precious time too. Usually we are of the habit of loving quick cooking, as most of us want to make things in a rush and sit back the rest of the time. For such people, making a Dal curry would be the right choice.


Since this is a quick and easy dish, I make it a point that this curry is cooked at least once in a week in my house. Toor dal is used for making Dal Curry in my style.  And I assure you that this would become your favorite dish too. So here you go the recipe for Dal curry.


Ingredients


·        Toor Dal – 2 cups
·        Onions – 2 medium
·        Green chilly- 1
·        Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
·        Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
·        Coriander powder – 3 tsp
·        Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
·        Salt
·        Oil
·        Water

Method


·        Wash toor dal and soak for 15 min
·        Place a pressure cooker on flame
·        Pour oil and add onions which are finely chopped
·        Add green chilles and sauté well
·        When the onions turn golden brown, add ginger garlic paste and sauté
·        Now you may add red chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Mix well and roast for 1 min
·        Drain off water from toor dal and add them to the pressure cooker and saute.
·        Add salt
·        Add water and close the lid of the pressure cooker
·        Cook until you hear 2 whistles from the pressure cooker. This might take around 10 min
·        After 10 min, switch off the flame and let the cooker cool
·        Open the lid of the cooker and remove the contents to a bowl after checking salt
·        Serve hot with chapattis.
