Sheema Chakka or Bread fruit is a common
vegetable found in countries in Asia and Africa. It is used as a vegetable. You
can consume Bread fruit after cooking it plainly with salt and adding coconut
milk or coconut gratings to it. It does taste great. Yet another method is to
fry it. You would not expect such a tasty chips in your plate ever before. And do
note that Bread fruit chips is something much healthier and tastier than ready-made
snacks that are offered to you in stores. It is simply irresistible.
Usually you find a lot of Bread fruit
in market during season times. But when it is off season, you rarely get a glimpse
of it. I like Bread fruit chips all crispy. So I make sure that it is sliced
finely. Finely sliced bread fruit does taste yummy. You can always make tasty
bread fruit chips for your children instead of offering them those added with artificial
flavors or colors. Simple, yet tasty, this has always been my favorite snack
right from my childhood. Fried Bread fruit chips in the containers were always
a temptation for me when I was a child. You wouldn’t know when you finished the
whole lot. ;)
Even to this day, I make sure that I buy
bread fruit at home whenever it is season and make it a point to fry them or
steam them up. Everyone at home loves bread fruit varieties a lot. You too can
try out this healthy snack right at your home. Just check the recipe and enjoy a
bowl of home-made bread fruit chips. This is a very simple recipe and hope you
would make it often.
